A new Year to remember

I have been thinking from September onwards for a destination to celebrate and welcome the year 2006. Last time we did it Miami and it was pretty awesome. So I don’t want to get disappointed this time by doing that in a small downtown club. So we narrowed it down to New York and Las Vegas. The big apple has always amazed me and would love to see that in real. But due to time and financial constraints, we settled with the Las Vegas plan. To be honest, at Jan 1st we were the happiest people on earth that we chose the sin city to start our new year. As Elvis rightly said “How I wish that there were more than the twenty-four hours in the day”. It was a dream world built in the middle of a desert. After 3 days away from Vegas I can still hear cling-cling-cling sound of the coins raining out of the slot machines. I started loving one more genre of music, the music of slot machines. Thousands of people were burning their hard earned money in roulette, black jack and poker. By evening of December 31’st the city of lights started to drench her self in liquor of all kinds. I couldn’t see a single soul in the street who is sober and people were celebrating as if it was their last day of their lives. Colors and races started mixing together like the concept of one world became real. Walking over the party beads and flyers to adult shows, we walked more that five miles back and forth the strip not feeling tired even for a minute. The mojo of the crowd was radiating to every one nearby. All I can say is “It was one hell of a night”As always, I was watching the crowd. An old lady may be he came here for a vacation or to double her retirement savings. Those tired eyes sparkled every time she wins some credits. I know even though she is spending her life time earnings, still she is having a memorable time of her life. There sits another guy with goatee and a huge cigar that hardly fits on his mouth. He might have lived his entire life playing with numbers, seeing highs and lows. Now he is trying his luck to get his stakes up higher. After all the rustles and hustles in the street and the clubs, we reached back to the hotel at 5.30 in the morning thinking that we can play for some time before going to bed. You guys won’t believe, at that time of the day, I had to wait for 20 minutes to get a slot in the roulette table. God bless America and God bless Las Vegas.
