Do emotions control you or you control your emotions

I am not taking the off beaten path to get to a conclusion. If we consider an analogy, the burst of an emotion is like a chemical experiment. If we add the right ingredients, the result will be predictable, but there can be some catalysts which can vary the intensity of it. The amount of these catalysts can be different in different individuals. We can simulate most of them by giving the right amount of stimulation to our desires, feelings and recollecting similar memories. Simulated ones and spontaneous ones are like two sides of a coin and they are disparate.

The birth of a spontaneous emotion is purely based on the scenarios that can tickle your desires. The resulting behavior can be similar for multiple cases even though the cause is entirely different. People cry when they are sad, hurt and when they are in ecstasy (not the pill). Controlling of emotions is a temporary phenomenon. It is like clearing from the RAM in computer terms. The spark will be still available in some part of your mind. These are the kind of sparks any actors can make use of when they emote different scenarios, some can even ignite that spark and perform. Most of the times these sparks can accumulate on its own and can cause an eruption at the least provocation which can even cause an emotional turmoil.

Emotions can always question your morality and even the ethics. In some cases which include morality, which is a tough barrier for many of the people who lives in the current society, we try to suppress them so hard. Remember suppression is not the answer for anything in this world. It is like if you try to stop the flow of water and it will take an alternate course. The best way I feel is to redirect those feelings to similar ones which may satisfy your desires and won’t hurt the moral aspects.

Emotions definitely can control you, both natural ones and created ones. Mass hysteria in a music concert or group thinking is some of them for the later one. There can be excessive struggle between our conscience and the urge. We cannot let any one of this to win over the other as both can have adverse effects. The decision will be based on what makes you happy and what are the consequences. In the core, all human beings are self centered and we can discuss about this at a later time. Because of this nature, naturally the priority will be given to the one that makes him happy and in weak minded people the urge takes over.

When we look at the topography of human mind, human beings care for each other from interaction for a longer period of time or compassion based on mutual benefits. The changes in either positive or negative ways to any of these can cause an emotional variation. The catalysts can be achievement, attraction, basic needs, interest conflicts and many others. A perfect mix of all the ingredients is impossible in life and a life devoid of emotions is equivalent to being inanimate.

I can ramble on forever on this. The point for all the emotionally challenged people are to find a perfect balance between your desires and emotions and let your intellect decide whom should rule you and how.
